I do not understand how such a long paragraph of ignorance by Val Kilmer could have been misquoted. I can understand a sentence or two being misquoted, but a whole paragraph? I do not buy his apologies. As a Female Veteran, I am deeply dismayed and disgusted!!
And no Mr. Kilmer, nothing prepares you for fearing for your life when the enemy is after you.
Few people have the "emotional equipment" to carry a comrade's body parts and hear your comrades in pain calling out for their mommy and there is nothing that one can do about it.
There is no way, Mr. Kilmer, you understand any of that, actor or not!!!
