He is doing this movie (Lone Survivor) to show Americans that SEALS really are dedicated WARRIORS who defend our nation at really low pay.

Yes, DD, you're absolutely right - Marcus Luttrell is the real deal. His is an amazing story of survival, and I can't wait to see the movie!
I'm glad that he's telling the story of Operation Red Wings, and keeping alive the memory of his three SEAL team brothers who died on the mountain that day.
It became the largest single loss of life for Naval Special Warfare since World War II when the helicopter bringing reinforcements was shot down by an RPG, killing 8 more SEALs and 8 Army Night Stalkers. Nineteen highly-trained, elite Special Operations troops died on the side of that mountain, and nineteen families were forever changed.

It's really too bad that Val Kilmer showed such poor judgment to make such ignorant remarks about our military.
I understand the point he was trying to make, but there was a much better way to say it. He really stepped in it, I'm afraid. And then made it worse by claiming he didn't say those things.
