Is the connection between Obama and Odinga a cause for concern among American voters? It certainly appears to be.
Obama made campaign appearances with Odinga and raised nearly a million dollars for Odinga's bid to be president of Kenya.
Why do you care? Keep reading -- all the way to the bottom!
Barack Obama ran for President in 2008 as the candidate of "change." His campaign slogan was "Change We Need."
But from what we've learned about Raila Odinga and Obama's support of him, we've determined that we don't want that kind of change.
Who is Raila Odinga?
If the name is not familiar to you, Raila Odinga was the opposition leader who lost the election for Kenya's presidency in 2007 to Mwai Kibaki by some 230,000 votes.
Odinga ran as the candidate of "Change." Sound familiar? That should send a chill down your spine, especially when you see the kind of "change" he had in mind -- be sure to read below the video.
Within hours of the election results being announced, Odinga claimed the election was rigged. His followers (mostly Muslim) went on a riotous rampage, burning down villages and killing members of the rival Kikuyu tribe (mostly Christian) to which Kibaki belongs. In one notorious incident on New Year's Day, a mob locked the doors of a church where villagers, mostly women and children, had fled for safety, and set it on fire, burning them alive. Press reports said those who attempted to escape from the burning building were hacked to death by machete-weilding mobs.
Odinga supporters painted graffiti reading "No Raila, No Peace," promising the tribal violence would continue until the votes were recounted. More than 1500 Kenyans died, and an estimated 500,000 were left homeless by the rampage. Most press reports dismissed it as "tribal violence." Others accuse Odinga of genocide.
Former U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan (from Ghana) interceded and helped negotiate an accord in which the elected President, Mwai Kibaki, appointed Odinga as Prime Minister, a sharing of power that was brokered to appease Odinga's supporters and stop the violence.
Does that bother you as much as it bothers us? Isn't that negotiating with terrorists? And not just negotiating, but caving in and giving them what they want? Does it not reward their murderous tactics?
Why Should a Connection Between Obama and Odinga Concern American Voters?
Raila Odinga is from the Luo tribe, as was Barack Obama's father. He claims that Obama Sr. was his maternal uncle, making him a cousin of President Barack Obama.
We have seen other writers attempt to dismiss Odinga's claim by saying that in African tribal culture, all members of the tribe are considered to be "cousins" and that the word does not have the same meaning it has in the U.S.
But Odinga's claim is more specific than that - he says Obama Sr. was his mother's brother. That claim has not been disputed by Barack Obama, to our knowledge.
Before he became a Presidential candidate, then-Senator Barack Obama made a solo "Senate fact-finding mission" to Kenya in 2006. While there, on a trip made in the name of the U.S. government (as a U.S. Senator) and paid for with taxpayer dollars, he made several campaign appearances with Odinga, obviously attempting to help him win the election.
The obvious question: Why was a U.S. Senator, a representative of the United States Government, involved in any political campaign in a foreign country?
Was he attempting to hint that the U.S. government supported Odinga? Could he possibly have not known that would be the impression? We don't think so.
More importantly, why did the Senate Ethics Committee not investigate this obvious abuse of position and misuse of taxpayer dollars?
And why doesn't the American public know about this?
Because mainstream media is not reporting it. If you want to know about it, you'll have to get on the internet and read some "new media" sources.
Why Did Barack Obama Try to Hide the Obama and Odinga Connection?
Raila Odinga enjoyed the support of Kenya's Muslim community in the election, while denying any ties to Muslim leaders. That lie was exposed when Sheik Abdullah Abdi, chairman of the National Muslim Leaders Forum, appeared on Kenya television displaying a memorandum of understanding signed on Aug. 29, 2007, by Mr. Odinga and the Muslim leader.
The details of the agreement were shocking. Unfortunately, the pdf file has been removed, but we captured the details for you before it was taken down.
In exchange for their endorsement and Muslim support in the election, Odinga essentially agreed to create another Taliban.
He acknowledged Islam as the only "true religion" and agreed to (among other things):
re-write Kenya's Constitution within six months to institute Shariah as the only true law sanctioned by the Quran for Muslim regions;
facilitate the establishment of a Shariah court within every Kenyan divisional headquarters within one year of being sworn in;
issue National Identity cards to ALL Muslims residing in Kenya;
"popularize Islam, the only true religion, . . . by ordering every primary school in Kenya in the regions to conduct daily Madrassa classes;"
"impose a total ban on open-air gospel crusades by worshippers of the cross . . .;"
outlaw gospel programs on national television;
impose a total ban on alcohol and pork in regions populated by Muslims; and
"impose an immediate ban on women's public dressing styles that are considered immoral and offensive to the Muslim faith in the Muslim regions . . . . This ban will apply to Muslims and non-Muslims alike, in these regions and will include all visitors whether domestic or foreign tourists."
In addition, Odinga agreed to give the Council of Islamic Leaders an "oversight role to monitor activities of ALL other religions" [emphasis in original] in the Coast Province, which was to be granted full autonomy in governance.
And "No Muslim residing in Kenya whether a citizen, visitor or relative of any of the above shall be subjected to any process involving the laws of a foreign country and in particular any Muslim arrested for or suspected of Terrorism or any other International crime shall only be tried within the boarders [sic] of Kenya and shall be granted a competent lawyer of his/her choice at the expense of the Government."
This provision would have created Kenya as a safe haven for international Islamic terrorists -- all they would have to do is hotfoot it to Kenya before being caught, and they'd be "home free."
According to published reports, U.S. Senator Barack Obama "bundled" nearly $1 million to support the election of this man! Close behind him in contributions to the Odinga campaign was the son of Libyan leader Moammar Qaddafi, who has publicly endorsed Barack Obama.
And in a very curious twist, Dick Morris, former Bill Clinton advisor, allegedly provided "pro bono" (free) consulting services to the campaign. He may have provided services, but we seriously doubt it was "pro bono." So if it was "pro bono" to the campaign, who paid Morris?
Obama Tried to Hide the Connection?
In December 2006, Obama allegedly sent e-mail to Odinga advising him that any future communication should go through Obama staffer Mark Lippert "for my own security both for now and in future."
We have some concerns about the authenticity of that e-mail. Let's face it -- if Obama didn't want a connection to be made between the two, would he really send such an e-mail from his Senate e-mail address? Or suggest that Odinga communicate with one of his staffers?
We don't think Obama is that dumb. And the language is a bit odd, like perhaps it was written by someone outside the U.S. We'll let you be the judge.
Obama Has Far Too Many Relationships with Radicals
This is another troubling chapter in the book of Obama associates with radical views.
The fact that Barack Obama openly campaigned for Raila Odinga and raised contributions for his campaign of nearly a million dollars, given Odinga's agreement to the terms of the MOU with Muslim leaders that would have essentially given the Taliban a new home in Kenya should be enough to strike fear in the heart of every American voter.
James Carville has already suggested, to Anderson Cooper on his CNN show Anderson Cooper 360, that the U.S. could be faced with similar rioting if Obama does not win the U.S. election. "You stop and contemplate this country if Obama goes in and he has a consistent five point lead and loses the election, it would be very, very, very dramatic out there."
Is he expressing concern that this might happen, or does he know something we don't? Is this part of the Obama strategy? Intimidate people into voting for Obama with threats of riots if he's not elected? They're already intimidating people who indicate they don't intend to vote for him -- go to the search bar at the bottom of this page and type in "Obama truth squad."
Is THIS the kind of "CHANGE" Barack Obama is promising America?
We cannot give this man the power of the White House. He has repeatedly shown a serious lapse of judgment in the selection of his "friends" and causes. If he's willing to back such a radical as Odinga, with the kind of "change" Odinga agreed to implement in Kenya, what does Obama have in mind for America once he's sworn in?
What kind of pact has Obama made with whomever is behind all the money he's using to try to "buy" the White House? Obama has raised unprecedented amounts of money for a Presidential election, and it is now coming to light that much of it was contributed illegally, some from foreign sources.
If his support of Odinga is an example of his character and judgment, or the kind of "change" he has in mind for America, we don't want him answering the red phone at 3 a.m. or any other time!
